David Keith: AIA Virginia Distinguished Achievement Recipient

Join us in congratulating Hanbury CEO David Keith for his Award for Distinguished Achievement from the Virginia Chapter of the AIA. This award is "a recognition of achievement and service to the profession," and we couldn't agree more that David's accomplishments and contributions to clients and architects in Virginia are worthy of their commendation.

Specifically, the AIAVA calls attention to David's impact on some of the state's most well-known architecture firms as well as its cities and institutions. It notes his over 200 projects and "impressive number" of Design Awards, and references his service on the boards of the AIAVA, the Design Build Institute of America, the Virginia Beach Planning and Design Review and Inform Magazine's Editorial Board.

These are certainly bright spots in David's truly impressive career, but we want to also recognize the positive influence he has had on our firm. Through his deep and personal connections throughout the region and his complete grasp of the goals and challenges of each of the Hampton Roads' communities; David has pushed Hanbury beyond our strong foothold in higher education. He has embraced our summer scholar program and our youngest staff with his trademark belief that every voice is worthy of listening to. His optimism is contagious and, as such, we have all bought in to, and are working toward, his vision for the future of our firm. Atop all of this ... David is fun. His easy manner has made our studios an even better place to work. Cheers David! You deserve it.

The Award for Distinguished Achievement will be presented at this year’s Visions for Architecture Gala on November 8 at the Hilton in Downtown Richmond.
