We are pleased to announce that Jane Cady Rathbone, FAIA LEED AP is the recipient of the 2017 William C. Noland Medal, the highest honor bestowed by AIA Virginia to an architect. The Noland Medal is intended to honor a distinguished body of accomplishments, sustained over time, which spans a broad spectrum of the profession, and which transcends the scope of normal professional activities.

While guiding Hanbury as its chief executive officer and president, she has shaped thinking and grown our award-winning firm into an internationally recognized practice. Jane shares her deep knowledge with her colleagues, clients, students, the public and the profession on a state, national and international level through writing, speaking, teaching, and through serving boards, institutions and organizations, including the Virginia Foundation for Architecture at a critical time.

Through her leadership, talent, intellect, vision, compassion, sincerity, discipline, empathy, creativity and achievement, Jane is most worthy of recognition and acceptance to the list of distinguished Virginia architects who have been honored with this award.
