Hanbury Announces New Principals, Associate Principals and Associates

Hanbury wrapped up 2019 with the elevation of 13 well deserving teammates who have consistently shown high quality work and embodiment of our firm’s values, in addition to being integral to the culture and lifestyle of our workplace.

New Principals: 

Scott Evans Miller, LEED AP, Principal
Scott has been an essential member of Hanbury’s planning team for more than ten years and has helped lead this market sector across the firm. His holistic vision makes him a valued design partner, and he has led to many transformational campus building and landscape projects. Scott is recognized for his outstanding approach to place-making and enhancing the student experience on campuses across the nation.

Patrick O'Keefe, AIA, Principal
Having created the Science + Technology practice and served as the director of the Raleigh office for a nationally recognized design firm, Patrick came to Hanbury as a principal to lead growth of the firm's Science and Technology Market and join our leadership team. His 25+ years of experience in the design of corporate and higher education life science facilities, ranging from research and teaching laboratories to research greenhouses and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, has generated immediate growth in Hanbury's Science and Technology practice.

Christopher Small, PE, LEED AP, Principal
Chris joined Hanbury last year as a Principal and a leader of our Science and Technology Market. His 15+ years of experience in leading design teams in both the private sector and in higher education reflects Hanbury's new directions and ambitions. His repeated recognition for the results of his projects as well as his ability to inspire interdisciplinary collaboration and flexing as needed to adapt to advances in science research combine to make him a trusted advisor in his field.

New Associate Principals: 

James Benson, AIA NCIDQ, CPSM, MBA, LEED AP BD+C, Associate Principal
Dubbed "Superman" by more than one client, James arrived at Hanbury last year as an associate principal and architect. With a background in leading the higher education market at his prior firm and a broad array of science projects in this portfolio, James is relied upon for his high quality work, attention to detail, and mentorship. His contributions to Hanbury have been felt by leadership, team members and clients alike.

Erika Feggestad, Associate AIA, Associate Principal
As one of the top designers at Hanbury, Erika has a natural eye for design, is an impressive communicator and is admired for her continued pursuit to improve her skills. She has a broad depth of experiences with campus projects and is valued by clients and teammates alike.

Chrissy Gahm, CMA, CPA, CGMA, Associate Principal
As Financial Director, Chrissy has trained her focus on our future. Her leadership in both accounting and human resources has positioned us to better follow through with our strategic plans. She is an advocate for ensuring we grow the firm in a healthy, financially sustainable and resilient way. From profitability to employee benefits, Chrissy is continually looking for ways to improve the firm.

New Board Members:

Rebecca B. Ensogna, AIA, LEED AP BD+C – re-elected as Secretary
As a principal and project manager, Becky’s colleagues respect her and have confidence in her leadership. Consequently, her teams are focused, organized and precise; earning her the respect of our clients. Becky has a high degree of professionalism and is one to take on stronger leadership roles. In her role as secretary, Becky thinks strategically and asks tough questions. Her thoughtful consideration of firm strategy and direction is valued by the Board.

Jesse Green, AIA, LEED AP – new Board member
Jesse brings a fresh design perspective, through his art background, and a Raleigh voice to the Board. He is a pleasure to work with in every category, from client engagements to his foresight for the firm. Jesse shows maturity beyond his years and a high level of curiosity. He is passionate about design, Hanbury’s potential and its strategic vision.

New Associates are:
Cody Dodd, Designer; Elizabeth Morgan, Designer; Nancy Redenius, Designer; Adam Schultz, AIA, Architect; and Lisa Syfrett, SDA, Project Coordinator, have been recognized as Associates of the firm for their excellent work, design attention, and leadership.
