Hanbury Expands Into Grand Rapids, Michigan

Hanbury is proud to announce its newest expansion to Grand Rapids, Michigan. With the addition of Doug Campbell, AIA, LEED AP, and Krista VanHoutteghem, AIA, MCD, the firm is poised to serve both new and existing higher education, science and technology, and civic and community clients in the Midwest region. The new office, located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, represents a strategic move for the firm as it continues to grow its geographic reach.

Doug Campbell joins Hanbury as a Principal and Higher Education Market Leader, bringing with him over two decades of experience in the industry. Since beginning his career with Hanbury in 2004 as a part of the Summer Scholars program, Doug has played a crucial role in leading numerous education projects, from campus planning to student life to academic projects. He is a strong advocate for sustainability, community involvement, and promoting positive student outcomes. Doug received his Bachelor of Architecture and English Literature from the University of Virginia, and his Master of Architecture from the University of Texas. 

Krista VanHoutteghem joins Hanbury as an Associate and plans to pursue her passion of campus and community planning. She has deep experience in community engagement and campus planning initiatives, fostering a truly inclusive design process. Krista has also been instrumental in leading the discussion on justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion within the industry. Krista holds a Master of Architecture and Community Development Degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.
