Ball State Makerspace

Ball State University's Living Learning Makerspace fosters innovation, active-learning, entrepreneurship and collaboration while facilitating hands-on instruction and ‘maker’ training for the next generation of educators. Designed as a hyper-flexible adaptable lab, the makerspace will not only serve this core function, but also act as a community ‘hearth’ for students, faculty and staff encouraging interaction and facilitating cross-cultural/cross-disciplinary friendships, collaboration and understanding.

The makerspace is designed with simplicity, visibility, durability, and flexibility in mind, accommodating high utilization with both learning and science on display. A 'Swiss Army Knife' of sorts, the space is easily adaptable to changing equipment and pedagogical needs as they arise.
