New Academic/ Administration Building

The first new substantial teaching facility on the Thomas Nelson Community College's core Hampton campus in more than 10 years, the new Academic and Administration Building, represents the initial step in expanding the school's reputation and presence in the community. The site is well positioned on campus to create a more visible "front door," redefining approach, entry, and relationships between a previously disparate collection of buildings.

The three-story building is central to the campus core and provides direct connections between the new campus entry and the central exterior student space. Designed in accord with the campus master plan update, the building features seamlessly configured interior and exterior student spaces that reinforce master plan initiatives, making the campus more inviting and collegiate. It affords Thomas Nelson Community College the opportunity to bring students, faculty, administration, and the community together in a setting that will activate not only this building, but the entire campus.
