McNutt Dining Renovation & Addition

The McNutt Dining Hall is situated between the McNutt Residence halls. These C-shaped residence halls create a shared courtyard on both the north and south sides of dining. McNutt Dining Hall shares space with the Kelley School of Business, Residence Life, and a Staff Apartment. Dining is the primary function on the ground and first floors while the other functions are mostly on the second and third floors.

The new Walnut Grove Housing was developed concurrently with the McNutt Dining Hall renovation and addition, and is situated to the west of the McNutt complex. The siting of the new housing and McNutt dining creates a new green space pedestrian promenade from the arboretum to a new west entry into dining and beyond to the east.

The McNutt Dining Hall features eleven retail Micro-Restaurants and a Starbucks, providing a wide variety of food choices employing an open kitchens concept. The courtyards created by the adjacent housing allow for outdoor terraced seating to flow out from the dining spaces on both the north and south sides of the building. Hanbury designed the project with local firm, CSO Architects.
